Two Factor Authentication
For the safety and security of our members Two Factor
Authentication has been implemented for the online accounts. If someone
tries to logon to an online account using a computer that is unknown to us,
they will be challenged. They will have to authenticate with an access-id
and password and they will have a second authentication where they will have to enter the answers to three additional
questions.
When members setup their online accounts they are
presented with 20 questions and they have to answer 10 of them or they will not be able
to logon. If they answer yes to the question "Do you want us to remember
this computer?", the computer is marked as a computer we know the member
uses. If they answer no they will be challenged every time they logon
with a computer that is unknown to us. See the example questions below:

You will be asked if you want us to remember the
computer (authenticate the computer) you are using. If you answer
"Yes", you will never see these questions again, except
if you get a new computer or you try to login in with a computer that
has never been authenticated.

There is one more exception. If your browser
does not support cookies, or you (or your administrator) has cookies
disabled, or you do not have Macromedia Flash Player installed on
your computer, you will have to answer three of the ten questions
every time you login. Please note that you do not have to have both
Macromedia Flash Player and cookies, you just have to have one of
the two. You can click the Flash Player link below to install
it. You most likely do not need it. Key Federal Credit Union
is only providing the link and is not responsible for programs you
choose to install on your computer. We recently received a
security notice that there is security flaw in older
versions of flash player. This might be a good opportunity
to un-install your older flash player and install the most current
one. To un-install click on "Start" and look for "Control
Panel" if you do not see "Control Panel", you may have to
click on "Start" then
"Settings" then "Control Panel" depending on which version of
Windows you have. After you open the "Control Panel" look for
add remove programs and click on it. Next look for Macromedia
Flash Player or Adobe Flash Player (there may be more than one) if
the version number is less than 9.0.16.0 or you do not see a
version number then un-install all versions. You can then click on
the below flash player link and install version 9.0.16.0. You
do not have to have flash player to use our website or MIA! Some
other website may not display properly if you do not have flash
player installed.

The answers to the questions are case
sensitive. If you enter the city where you were born, for example
"Houston", you would have to make sure you used a capital
"H" every time you are presented with the question. If you
entered "HOUSTON", you would have to use all capital letters
every time you answered the question. Our online processor is
recommending that you DO NOT use punctuation
such as commas and periods.
What can we do to help you:
1.) We can delete your answers to your
questions which will cause the original twenty questions to come
up when you login. You will then be able to enter answers to the
questions again.
2.) We can delete the computers you
authenticated. This would be used for example when you
accidentally authenticated a public computer. The next time you
logged in you would be presented with three of your 10 questions and
be given a chance to authenticate the computer you are currently
logging in with.
We have to call you back at a phone
number we have in our computer system for security reasons.
Please make sure your email address and phone numbers are up to
date with the credit union. If you have a cell phone it is
recommend that you enter that as your home phone number or work
phone number so that we will always be able to call you back.
